In 1867, a heartfelt appeal from the Bishop of Colombo reached Saint Mary Euphrasia Pelletier, and by 1869 five pioneering Sisters had crossed the seas to begin our mission in Sri Lanka. From that first foundation in Kotahena, a legacy of faith, courage, and service has grown for over 150 years, carrying the Good Shepherd’s compassion to women, children, and communities across the island.
